CHRISTMAS IN SAVAGE BAY Snippet . . .
The characters in this scene:
Kara Sinclair and Reed Savage.
Also mentioned are Julie, Kara's sister, and Reed's brother, Cam Savage.
What's happening:
Kara and Reed are staying at a lovely hotel in the White Mountains (NH).

Reed took Kara cross-country skiing that afternoon. He said nothing more about deadlines so Kara decided to just enjoy what time was left. They followed up the skiing with a romantic dinner in the hotel’s restaurant. When their cappuccinos arrived, she leaned on her elbows and studied him. He looked great in a dress shirt and gray pants.
He had admitted to shopping in the inn’s boutique. She decided he didn’t need to know she had also paid a visit there at Julie’s urging and picked up the silver top [which she'd worn to entice Reed the night before]. Despite what Julie had said, her attempt at sexy hadn’t really made much difference between them. Reed hadn’t seemed dazzled in any particular way. If anything, he’d teased her more today than he had at any other time during his visit. And when she’d fallen down while skiing, instead of helping her up, he’d bombarded her with snowballs. So she had gone back to one of her favorite holiday tops pairing it with a black skirt Julie had left behind.
“I have a solution to your troubles with Cam,” she said.
Reed lifted his brows in question.
He looked good enough to eat with the perfect amount of stubble on his face.  She knew how it felt on her skin, and that thought sent a flush through her . . .

What is Kara's solution for healing the rift between Reed and his brother, Cam?
Will Kara finally succeed in dazzling Reed?

Recipe #5
Reed's Snowballs
(Kara just loves Reed's snowballs!!)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Ingredients:
2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
3 cups grated coconut
2 egg whites
2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions:
Mix the milk, vanilla, and coconut.  Beat the egg whites to stiff peaks, and then fold gently into the coconut mixture.  Shape into balls and bake on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet for 13 to 15 minutes or until golden brown (Watch carefully so coconut doesn't burn!).  Immediately remove to a wire cooling rack.  Length of time depends on the size of the snowballs.  Makes approximately 3 dozen.

  1. Thank you for the chance to win. I love the cover for your book. It sounds like a great story. The snowballs remind me of a recipe my ex-mil used to make. :)

  6. These are really easy and fun to make. I was telling my mom I put the recipe up here and she says she stole it from Eleanor Roosevelt but updated it to be better...take that with a grain of salt :)
